Who Can Get a Pension Refund from Germany?

If you've worked in Germany and are leaving (or have left) the country, you may be entitled to get your pension contributions back.

You ARE Eligible If...

  • You worked in Germany and paid into the pension system
  • You have left Germany permanently
  • You now live outside the EU/EEA
  • You have not yet reached retirement age
  • At least 24 months have passed since leaving Germany
  • You contributed for less than 60 months (5 years)

You Are NOT Eligible If...

  • You still live in Germany
  • You live in another EU/EEA country
  • You have already reached retirement age
  • You contributed for 60+ months (you can claim pension instead)
